I pride myself on having a blog that's all about creative living. Well, today that includes creative problem solving. You're welcome.
Okay. So. Whoever thought this was a good idea, you're fired.
I love supporting businesses on Etsy. It's my favorite shopping platform. If you're unfamiliar with it, it's the perfect place to support small businesses and artisans, while getting truly one-of-a-kind items made with painstaking attention to detail by people who are passionate about what they do. I buy everything on Etsy: from home decor to office supplies and everything in between. Well, fun fact, this also means I do a ton of my gift shopping on Etsy, too.
Riddle me this:
why would I want someone to be able to go right into my Etsy to see everything I love and want or want to gift?!
Since I looked this topic up and other articles were outdated, here's the most current way to turn that setting off (as of September 2020), even if your account on Etsy is for selling.
On Etsy Marketplace (any page), find the circle in the top right hand corner with your picture (or where your picture would be). It's labeled "You."
Click the little down arrow next to "you". A drop-down menu will appear.
You should see your username at the top of that menu, followed by a little button that says 'View profile >'. Click 'View profile >'.
Your profile should open up. Right next to your big, bold name, youll see a button that says 'Edit profile' with a pencil icon. Click it.
A page titled 'Your Public Profile' will pop up. Scroll all the way down to the bottom of that page.
The very last box/section on that page will say 'Include on your profile:'
Uncheck the box next to anything you don't want the public to be able to view. Namely, 'Favorite items', or 'Favorite shops'.
There you go. Now you can feel free to use that 'Favorite' button to save all of your secret musings. Happy shopping!
Yes. I favorite a lot of things.
