Small Business Moving and Design Series

Updated: Apr 14, 2020

While it may seem to some like this topic couldn't come at a worse time, I think right now is the perfect time for all small business owners to put some extra love into their businesses. We have a unique opportunity right now to actually catch up, prepare, and make our businesses better than ever when the world opens back up for business. If you think about it that way, it's kind of the exciting spring break we all wished for. (You know what they say... be careful what you wish for).

Some of you know that my regular 9-5 job is working as a paralegal for a law firm in Westlake Village, which you wouldn't think would include a lot of DIY crafting projects. Usually, it doesn't. Usually it's paperwork and research and all sorts of other things. But not this time.

After 13 years in our previous location, the firm has decided to make some big moves: like, literally across the hall.

I know it sounds absurd, but we have so much space that we don't use. There were at least four complete workstations that haven't been touched for years. So for the first time in MM&J's history, there had to be a clean-out. Seriously. In every previous move they just took everything that had been acquired and accrued from every year since 1984. Not this time. This has to be the single largest DIY project I've ever taken on. Am I stoked about that? Ask me after all the dust settles.

Moving a business is no easy task- and when it came to small businesses, I couldn't find any affordable inspiration. So this time, I had to be my own Pinterest. I know. Gasp. But, that means that everyone who reads this gets to benefit before the rest of the world. So that's exciting.

It came down to 5 major projects- all of which were time consuming and a pain in the butt in their own right, so each one deserved a post to honor all of the effort that was put into them. As these posts are released, these links will be updated. So check back every day to see what's been added!

I am so excited to finally be able to share all of my recent projects and struggles with you- and can't wait for you to see what we've accomplished!

As with anything I ever post, if you have questions, comments, or want details, just let me know. Click each colored link once it's been posted!
